Microsuction Earwax Removal: Hear to help you hear more clearly

Why Microsuction Earwax Removal Matters

Struggling with blocked ears and muffled hearing discomfort, our ear technicians are here to help you. Comfortable, safe and simple gold standard microsuction technology carried out by our highly trained professionals you can trust in Bristol.

What is Microsuction?

Microsuction is a process carried out by our accredited ear health technicians using specialist gold standard technology. We examine your ear canal using a high-definition micro camera, then gently remove the wax using a simple suction device in a single appointment (typically around 30 minutes).

Why Choose The House Clinics for Earwax Removal in Bristol?

  • A team of experienced, qualified ear health technicians specialising in microsuction.

  • Gold-standard microsuction technology.

  • Use of a digital micro camera system (video/photography) so we can have a photographic record to capture and review your ear health.

Recognising the Signs of Excess Earwax

You might need earwax removal if you experience:

  • Hearing loss or muffled hearing

  • Feeling of blocked ears

  • Earache, itching or discharge

  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)

  • Loss of balance or dizziness

People more commonly affected include:
Those who wear hearing aids
Use ear-plugs or
Use earphones frequently
Clean their ears with cotton buds (which often pushes wax further in).

What to Expect: The Process at The House Clinics

  1. Booking & Pre-Prep
You can book an appointment online or by phone. Five days prior to your appointment we advise you to use a softening oil (Over the counter olive oil ear-drops) twice daily in the affected ear(s) to make removal easier.

  2. Examination
On arrival your ear health technician will explain the process, ask about your ear health, and examine your ear using the micro camera system.

  3. Microsuction Removal
Using the camera view, plus the microsuction tool, wax is gently removed - the treatment is usually painless though you might feel slight sensitivity. The appointment is around 30 minutes.

  4. Follow-up & Aftercare
More often than not you’ll feel immediate relief from symptoms. If for any reason not all wax can be removed in one appointment, you may be asked to return after another short oil-softening period. If wax isn’t the cause of your symptoms, we’ll refer or write to your local pharmacist or GP/ENT specialist.

Benefits of Microsuction Earwax Removal

  • Immediate improvement in hearing clarity once the blockage is cleared

  • Relief from other troublesome symptoms like tinnitus or dizziness caused by wax-impaction

  • Safe and effective: the camera system allows direct vision so the procedure is more controlled than older methods like syringing

  • Convenient: one appointment, one fee, minimal disruption

Pricing & Appointment Info

Is Microsuction Right for You?

Microsuction is a safe choice for most people with problematic earwax build-up. However, if you have any ear surgery, ear discharge, perforated eardrum or recent ear infection you should let us know at booking so we can appropriately assess your case. If we suspect any other underlying ear condition we will advise referral to your local pharmacist or GP/ENT specialist.
